When hunting you always want to choose the right gear ranging from making certain you choose the correct weapon for your game to the wide variety of clothing. One thing that would be a disadvantage to you, though, is carting around a lot of gear. Also, you want to choose a prime location…and hunting buddies that are discreet!
Should you choose to use a tree stand, luxury isn’t exactly key. A hunter’s seat cushion would be a good idea to add a sense of comfort. Hand warmers are a convenient thing to have on hand to knock off the chill from your fingertips and are also good for feet.
Always remember to check the weather report so you can dress appropriately. You don’t want to go unprepared, and don’t exactly have unlimited room to pack a lot of extra clothing. However, it’s not such a bad idea to always pack an extra pair of socks. Never forget your hat sporting the correct amount of fluorescent orange since you do not want to be mistaken for the prey. This is about the only time you do not want to be recognized as human either. Cleverly disguise yourself to the prey using a masking scent.
Make sure you have a knife on hand. Included in your gear should be a flashlight, with extra batteries, a drag rope for ease of haul, a field dressing kit and a compass. Although it isn’t necessary, a range finder is a convenient little tool to help you decide whether or not you can make a kill shot. But most importantly never ever forget your hunting license!
